A perfect winter warmer cake, when you are looking for a good old-fashioned cake with good old-fashioned flavour. A moist, yet fluffy cake infused with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, cardamom and four-seasons pepper. The spiciness of the cake is balanced by the sweet and creamy caramel frosting. I personally find this cake a great alternative to sticky date cake with butterscotch sauce, where both the cake and frosting are sweet.
